The Sacred Valley of the Incas is the green heart of the Cusco region. A private day lets you avoid the tour-bus rush and stay longer where you enjoy it most.
Our recommended route
- 07:30 — Pick-up in Cusco and drive to the Taray viewpoint over the valley.
- Awana Kancha — meet llamas and alpacas and see traditional weaving.
- Pisac — spectacular Inca terraces, then the handicraft market.
- Lunch in Urubamba — many restaurants offer Andean buffets.
- Ollantaytambo — a living Inca town and fortress with giant stone terraces.
- Chinchero — colonial church and weaving cooperatives at sunset.
Tips
- You need the Cusco tourist ticket (Boleto Turístico) for Pisac, Ollantaytambo and Chinchero.
- Bring cash in soles for the markets.
- Add Maras salt mines and Moray if you start early — just tell your driver.
